and she's back...........again!!! Plus Craft Room pics

Hey y'all!!!  Sorry that I have been "MIA" for so long, but back on February 5th I had to have some more surgery for repairs to the aortic aneurysm surgery I had last February.  The surgeon thought that he was going to have to do one stent and that the surgery would take two to three hours.........but it wound up being eight stents and a seven hour surgery.  After getting released from the hospital on the 11th, I went to Brooks Rehab and was not released until the 20th.  It has been a lot more recovery than I had figured, but I am now doing a lot better.  My biggest problem at this point is back pain....it is really hindering most things that I try to do..........it's work five minutes and then sit in my recliner for 15, but I am hanging in there.

Back in February of 2013, after purchasing our new home Thanksgiving of 2012, I posted some photos of my new craft room and promised that there would be more coming.  I spent the past few days cleaning my room and decided while it looks half way decent, to take some current photos.....you know, before I wreck it again LOL!!!  So here they are!

My husband and I agreed that I would use the large master bedroom for a combo den/craft room. This first photo is part of the den portion.  We have a 60" inch wall mounted TV in the "gathering room" ...that one is my husbands, so I got his old entertainment center and 42" TV which is perfect for my den area.  I display a number of cards on the shelves of the entertainment center.

This photo shows another view of the den area and that is my wonderful power  recliner that we purchased after I had my open heart surgery........I love it!!!

This is the third view of my den are and very conveniently, the master bath is right there which is SO convenient for clean up!

Corner side, front view of my desk that hubby and I built from 12 Recollection cubes.  It measures 6 feet and I had a 5 foot piece of custom glass cut for the top.

Here is a front view of my craft desk.

This is my "stand up work table" and I use it a lot.  I keep my Tim Holtz Vagabond 2 on the left side of it and it is a perfect fit!

I call this my "cutter station" as it holds by Silhouette Cameo as well as my Pazzles Vue machines.  That is my computer desk to the right.

Here is a front view of my computer desk.

This photo shows the right corner of my computer desk with my "printer stand" right beside it.  It holds my Canon and my Brother laser printer.  There is a third "storage" shelf that hold some Xyron machines as well as some miscellaneous items.  There is a front facing storage shelf next to it that holds my stamp and die storage, my Recollection 65# cardstock, as well as my Cuttlebug and some miscellaneous items.

I pretty much call this my "wall of storage" with my "laptop station" in the  center.

This is a close-up of my "laptop station".  I mainly use my laptop when doing file conversions, as I have an older version of Silhouette Studio and allows me to save in the SVG format.

I want to draw attention to all of the stunning black and white covers throughout my room.  They were all made and gifted to me by my dearest friend Tammy....she is SO talented!!!

Now, here is a photo of something I constructed out of foam board to store some of my ink pads and I am VERY proud of it.  I may need to make another one down the road!!!

I do want to say that my craft room/den is VERY lived in ......and I really like it that way!

Thank you to all of you that have stood by me during my "MIA" periods due to my health issues....I am so glad you stopped by for a visit!!!

  1. Lovely room and wonderful craft room! Oh my you have been through a lot with all those surgeries. I know my Dad had that surgery and it took him a year before he felt like a human being again. Take it easy and enjoy your crafting time!
