Christmas Card for my dear friend Tammy!

This was actually the first Christmas card I made for 2016 and it was for my friend Tammy!  And while I am thinking of it, there is a site that I want to make all of you aware of.........it is lovesvg.com and they have pages and pages of free SVG files for all of us.  They are fun to use inside of your cards with your pens and your pen tools and you can find them here!  I used one of them inside Tammy's card using my PaperMate EraserMate pen (it stays wet so that I can use embossing powder and heat set it).  In this case, I used my pen in my Cricut Explore Air, then used some silver embossing powder and heat set it.  Here are some photos:

OK y'all, I think this was the last Christmas card, so I will be posting a number of January birthday cards coming up.  Maybe soon, I will get caught up.......LOL.  Hurry back!!!

Christmas Card for my dear friend Peggy!!!

This is the Christmas card that I made for my dear friend, Peggy Dollar.  One of the prettiest things about it is the beautiful designer paper that I used.  It was one of those that I only bought one sheet and I wish that I had bought five!!!  I used a number of different Silhouette cutting files to get the final result with the lamp post and I designed the "chain" file myself.  I also used a lot of different dies for this card....as you can see in my "supplies list" below.

Peggy loved her card and I loved making it for her!!!  Thanks for looking........I will be right back with another one!!!

Here are a couple of Christmas cards that I made that were totally inspired by Amy R at Prairie Paper & Ink.  You can find her YouTube video here and I would highly recommend that you subscribe to her YouTube channel!  I actually made two variations of her card.

Deer & Fawn Christmas Card

This is the only new Christmas card design that I completed this year (hope to do better next year!), due to so many doctor appointments for my husband and myself!  I've been wanting to do a design using birch trees and this is what I came up with.

I made a background panel using Distress and Hero Arts Shadow Inks and then stamped some trees and foliage to go behind the birch tree oval that I cut using my Cameo and then I cut and inked the edges of the deer to go in front of the birch trees.  I also put some little spots on the fawn using my white Signo pen.  I cut two ovals...on the bottom one I used some microfine glitter and I cut the top one using some silver glitter paper, glued them together and popped them up with an oval die cut piece of fun foam.  I designed the sentiment and the mat layer below it...I cut the "Merry Christmas" using some more of the silver glitter paper and then cut a couple of layers of the mat to pop it up.  I kept this pretty simple and uncluttered as I wanted the "deer scene" to be the focal point.  Here is a close-up.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope y'all liked this one!!!

I am SO loving my MISTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Y'all, I have to admit that prior to purchasing my MISTI, I really was not very much into stamping......but I am now!!!  Iliana, at My Sweet Petunia and the creator of the MISTI is now taking pre-orders for this fantastic tool.  Here is link to her blog post telling all about it......so go check it out and order one............I promise you won't regret it!!!  I got mine back on October as a late (birthday is in September) birthday present and I love it more every day!!!

Believe it or not the card I just made and that I'm about to post photos of, totally started with this image of a holly stamp in the Recollections "Winter Wonderland" stamp set that I just purchased at Micheal's this week!!!

This is the stamp set and it was on sale for 40% off!!!

When I looked at the holly stamp I immediately thought of making a holly wreath using it.  To make the wreath, I stamped the image in black, scanned it and opened it in my Cameo software where I proceeded to turn it into a wreath by taking the image around a circle, making it a compound path and doing an offset and then I did another offset to get the "mat".  After cutting the wreath image out, I then used my MISTI to stamp the image around the wreath and covered the "berries"  with some pink liquid pearls.  The "mistletoe" is a Silhouette file and I added some white liquid pearls for the "berries" on it, added some punched branches and a tiny pink silk bow that I made with my "Bow Easy".  I recently purchased the My Favorite Things "Blueprints 13" and I used the stitched rectangle and rounded edge label dies from the set on my card.  I used the edge label for my "Merry Christmas" sentiment which was stamped with another Recollections stamp from the "Merry Merry" stamp set.  Then I cut three more of the labels, glued them all together for dimension and used a green Copic marker to match the green metallic cardstock that I used, to "paint" the edges and I really like the way it looks.  I'm going to use this card for the Splitcoast "Try a New Technique" Challenge (TLC509), "Layered Die-cuts".   Here are some photos.

I want to point out that I used a pigment ink for the sentiment and then embossed it using clear embossing powder.

Y'all I want to mention once again how much I am loving my MISTI.....and no, I am not on her payroll or anything else....I just think it's the greatest tool around for stamping!!!  Do yourself a huge favor and go get one..............you won't be sorry!!!

Christmas Card for my oldest son!

OK y'all, this is where I will start catching up....with this card.

I used some Silhouette files to design this card.  The files are:  Merry Christmas Tree by Lori Stevens, Design ID #14865 and Merry Christmas Tree - Separates by Lori Stevens, Design ID #14866 and the border I used down the side of the card is Loop Lace Border by Snapdragon Snippets, Design ID #15309.  I love the DCWV, "The Glitzy Glitter Stack", glitter papers that I used on this card, but I'm afraid they did not photograph well at all...you will just have to use your imagination.  Here is a view of the inside of the card:

On the left, there is a pocket that you can use for a gift card, cash or a check.  I also want to note that I used the "LDT Eesome" font from Lettering Delights and I did the text using the HotPaws Pen Tool for the Cameo (she also makes pen tools for most of the other cutters too), which is awesome!!!  I used one of my PaperMate EraserMate Pens in it, which stays wet and then I was able to use some White Opaque Embossing Powder and my Ranger "Heat It"to heat set it....and it looks so cool.  If you are interested in the HotPaws Pen Tools, you can find them here.  One of the things I like about them is they are so affordable and you only have to purchase one and you can use many, many different size pens in that one pen tool, not to mention that she has great customer service!

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back in a few to post the next one!!!

Good News & my "Red Poinsettia Card"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited and so thankful to God and all of y'all for your prayers!  Thank you so much.  The results from my PET scan yesterday are good.......no signs of cancer and I don't have another PET scan scheduled until until March 18, 2014!!!!  Everyone there said that I was looking so good!  The only thing I did not like is that I have gained 5 lbs....but the tech that does the PET scan said that that is a good sign as it means I am on the mend from all of the radiation.  Awww, now I can breathe for a while!!!

OK, now back to my passion (besides my DH), crafting!!!  I have completed the "red poinsettia" A2 Frame Card and have photos to share.

For this one, I did not use the clear embossing powder, I just gave the ink on the vellum a bit of time to dry and I actually think it's better NOT to emboss as I think it cuts better.  I used a couple of "Bic Mark-Its" to color this one.  For my darker color I chose "Rambunctious Red" and for my lighter color I chose "Sunset Orange" and I rather like how it turned out!  For the sentiment I used the "1 Bicarbonite DNA" font and I cut it out of a vinyl sample from signwarehouse.com that they sent me ages ago called "Champagne Gold Holographic"...love it!!!  Here is a close-up of the poinsettia.

Now, here are a couple of photos of the back of the card, showing the easel.  For this one I actually cut three of the easel and glued them together.  I did not score them with my cutter, instead after I glued them together I scored it with my Scor-Pal and I actually liked that method much better than cutting it out of cereal box and then having to paint or cover it with paper like I did with the first poinsettia card.

I will be making a "signature" label to go on the back of each card.....maybe using a "Christmas Bell" or "Christmas Tree" shape...have not decided yet!

Hey, once again, thanks for all of the prayers and support...they mean so much to me and thanks for stopping by.  Hurry back!!!

I LOVE this poinsettia image!!!!

OK y'all, I was "surfing" a few days ago and came across this card that made me want that digital poinsettia image.............so I went looking for it and found it here and purchased it!!!  I then proceeded to make me a print and cut file of it in black and white so that I could print it on vellum, lay clear embossing powder on it, heat set it and then color with my Tim Holtz Markers (for my lighter color I used "Spun Sugar" and for my darker, I used "Worn Lipstick") and my Clear "Wink of Stella Brush Tip Marker".  I liked the poinsettia so much that I decided to use it on a Christmas card for my sister-in-law.  This card does not open...I used an easel that I cut with my Sizzix eClips as my SIL likes to place cards on display in her built-in bookcase by her fireplace.  I sure hope she likes it!!!  Here are a couple of photos.

Here is a close-up.

For the "glitter stripes", I once again used the Silhouette "Double-sided Adhesive Sheets".  I'm thinking about making another card just like this one for my other sister-in-law, but make the poinsettia red and use gold accents instead of silver .  If I do that I will post some more photos.  Thanks for stopping by and hurry back!!!

Here are some Christmas Projects that I did not..................

get a chance to upload during the holidays as everything was so hectic....as usual!  Unfortunately, with everything that has been going on with my husband's health, as well as his daughter's, I was only able to design a couple of Christmas cards.

This is one that I designed for my good crafting friend that I served with on the Pazzles Design team.  I used my new Silhouette Cameo to cut the snowflakes, flowers and birds, which I heat embossed.  The lattice was done using my Martha Stewart "Garden Trellis" Deep Edge Punch.  The "Metallic Loop" trim is by Simplicity, and purchased from Walmart.

The other card that I designed was for my oldest son Doug, who was unable to come visit during the holidays due to his job and he lives out of state.  I can't remember now where I saw a card like this, but I love the design concept............as you place the gift card in the "package" that is in the sleigh!  Sleigh and snowflakes are Silhouette cutting files cut with my Cameo!

This is a gift box made from a free cutting file from SVG cuts.  I used pink mulberry paper to line the inside and the flower on top was made by me.  This was for our youngest granddaughter, Jennifer.

This is another SVG Cuts free file, made for our oldest great granddaughter, Jodi.  This was cut using my Cameo and the flower on top is by Recollections.

This little "purse box" was made for our three year old great granddaughter, Taylor Marie and I have to say that I had so much fun making this one.  It was made from a Silhouette file, including the graphics on the back, cut with my Cameo and I used some "nail art" to decorate the flap!

Front View:

Back View:

I used my Cameo to do "print and cut" gift tags that I found online...I used "Crystal" Stickles to make them come to life!

Thanks for stopping by to check these out and I want to wish each and every one of you a happy, wonderful and prosperous New Year!!!  Please come back soon and please don't forget to leave a little comment!
